slow response times using formmail.php

Hi,
I've just installed php and formmail.php and got it working ok. I'm able to send emails etc no problem. However it seems to be really slow. If i send a message the page sits there for about 15 seconds before it comes up saying the email has been sent successfully. This even happens with the test link
http://localhost/formmail.php?testalert=1

I have tried using the isapi.dll and the php-cgi.exe but both seem to be really slow.

Has anyone else seen this slow behaviour?

its probably something to do with PHP on windoze.

try the testmail scripts at the top of the subscription support forum.

if they run slow too, then you can ask your hosting provider why.

Thanks for the reply. I think php is ok as if i create the index.php which shows the php properties, that page displays straight away. It seems to only take a long time if i execute formmail.php.

Has anyone else seen this?
