you seem to have ".../" which probably should be "../".
Welcome to the Tectite Forums! You can download and get support for our free PHP FormMail (form processor) and other free software.
I just installed formmail and while running a test I get this:
Unable to create check file ".../formscratch/fmaa62e8.txt": failed to open stream: Operation not permitted
Every other related forum post I could find invovled people not creating their own scratch pad directory, so they don't really apply.
The scratch directory I created is outside my httpdocs folder, and I know the directory is accurate because I've got another script that calls a file from the same place and I simply copy/pasted the address so as to avoid spelling errors. The permissions on the directory are set to 777. I'm also not getting anything in my log file stored at the same level. I would normally assume that would mean there's something wrong with the path to the directories, but as I said, I have Dadamail setup to use a directory stored in the same place and it works fine. Anyone have any ideas?

No no, it's the proper path to the directory outside my httpdocs directory, I just shortened it in the above post, and as I said I've copy/pasted the path from a working file so I know it's correct.
mmmmm, then maybe PHP isnt permitted to create files: "Operation not permitted"
sounds like a server config problem with PHP
look at the phpinfo output to see what restriction are in force
