    Default Encoder/decoder

Hi, I currently use a cgi version of formmail. We haven't got PHP on our server. Is the encoder PHP based? Have you got a readme file / any documentation i could look at?
    Many thanks, Ellie

    Hi,

The encoder (FormMailEncoder) is a binary program - it does not rely on PHP. We have versions that will run on: Linux, FreeBSD, Windows, Sun Solaris.

In general, we can also provide versions for other server types.

You should be able to use it with your CGI version of FormMail, but that script may need modification in order to know how to access FormMailEncoder.

Very shortly you'll be able to download a free trial version for FormMailEncoder/Decoder.

However, in the interim, I've attached the Help file for FormMailDecoder. You can download and open this on a Windows PC. It contains the full documentation for getting FormMailEncoder/Decoder configured and running.

If you have any questions or would like any further assistance, please let me know.

Thanks - that looks wonderful. Great help file.
I'm looking forward to getting going with it. Nice news about the free trial too. Any idea when it will be up & running?

Oooh - another question. If we needed multiple instances of decoder running on different machines (we have different forms that need to go to different people), would we need more licenses?

Also - if we went ahead and bought it - without waiting for the free trial, would you be able to give me a hand getting it to work with our formmail script? (I know it's a bit of a big ask, but the help file seemed to imply it might be possible?)

    Many thanks, Ellie

The free trial is a couple of weeks away at least. However, we are currently offering a 30 day money back guarantee - so, it's much the same thing.

The encoder is free and can be installed on any number of servers. But you need one license for every PC that will have the decoder running on it.

If you email me the number of licenses you need to buy we may be able to offer you a volume discount (supportstaff AT tectite DOT com).

Also - if we went ahead and bought it - without waiting for the free trial, would you be able to give me a hand getting it to work with our formmail script? (I know it's a bit of a big ask, but the help file seemed to imply it might be possible?)
Could you also email me your current FormMail script and I'll be able to tell you whether we can alter it to use FormMailEncoder?
