    Default Thank you message and REALNAME

    Hello,

    First of all, thank you for a great application, it works a treat, and it will be useful for a bunch of uses.

    I am in the process of setting a forum for Wannabe Webmasters at
    http://www.paladinate.com/wannabeclub/index.html (Manifesto) and
    http://paladinate.com/phpbb/index.php the forum address.

    I wanted to use FormMail to mail out a questionnaire to the membership, collate the answers and publish the result son the newsletter, so I have create a form (Still needs a header and a couple of features, but it's getting there). The form is located at www.paladinate.com/phpbb/questions/index.html

    My two questions are as follows;

    Question 1 When the form has been filled out, and the Submit button clicked, the user is presented with " Thanks! We've received your information and, if it's appropriate, we'll be in contact with you soon." Because the form is used as a questionnaire, I would prefer to use wording like "Thank you, your answers will be collated with the other members' answers, and the results will be sent out in the weekly newsletter" Is it permissible to change the wording, and where can I find it?

    Question 2: The field for the user's name is encoded as realname. Most forms use the abbreviated version of Name and many users use Mozilla Firefox and it's add-on Auotfill, that responds to Name but not realname.

    If I were to change every occurrence of realname to name would I cause problems elsewhere?

    As is apparent, I am not an experienced programmer in PHP, CGI, etc. I do however have about 40 years' programming under my belt in COBOL, Fortran, dBase/Clipper and various flavours of SQL.

    That's what gave me the idea to create a forum for people like me, not a complete newbie, just not familiar with the web based scripting languages.

    I look forward to having a lot of fun with FormMail.

    Best Wishes,
    Alex

    Hi,

    To get your own "thank you" page, use good_url or good_template. See the HOW TO guide on redirecting the user.

    To use your own name field, we recommend you derive "realname" from your field. See the HOW TO guide on deriving fields.
