Hi,
Version 8.10 fixed a problem with redirects. Perhaps that fix has broken something with IE.
Can you please provide a URL for a form that doesn't work?
Welcome to the Tectite Forums! You can download and get support for our free PHP FormMail (form processor) and other free software.
I am having similar issues. The formmailer 8.11 appears to work perfectly in Firefox & Safari.
I tested the bad_url redirect in IE and got "Page cannot be displayed." I then filled out the form correctly, and still got "Page cannot be displayed." I searched the forums and found a thread that says to set "PUT_DATA_IN_URL" to false. I did this and still it didn't work.
I then commented out the bad_url statement in my form and if all the required fields are not filled out, it goes to the default formmailer page and the user has to instictively know to click the back button on their browser to get back to the form. If all fields are filled out correctly, the form works as it should.
I then started to get nervous about earlier forms I had done with bad_url, as I had tested them all before and they worked fine.
I just tested a form that I just updated to ver. 8.10 in November. The bad_url now displays (in both Firefox & Internet Explorer):
"Please wait while you are redirected...
If you are not automatically redirected, please click here. Your form submission was processed by (8.10), available from www.tectite.com."
But it never redirects. When I click on the link for click here, it goes to my bad_url pge. When I click on my link on my bad url page to go back to the form page, it says the page has expired.
I have a form here: http://www.hotrods101.com/contact-hotrods101.php that is version 8.05 that works fine with the bad_url. This one also is using ver. 8.05 https://secure.medfirststaffing.com/...tion-forms.php and I have numerous others at this version that I have not updated yet.
So, it appears that something in the formmailer code has changed between the 8.05 and current versions that somehow makes the bad_url not work in Internet Explorer and work differently in Firefox?
Thought you would want to know what I have found out about this problem and let me know if you need any more information!

I have a form with a good template that works in Firefox but not in IE -

However, another form using the same PHP file works in both browsers. Suggestions, please?
Hi,
Have you set PUT_DATA_IN_URL to false in FormMail's Configuration Section?
Please check the documentation:

I hadn't, but I just did and it didn't help. I'm using a good template, not a good URL if that matters.
I tried reverting to 8.05, but that didn't work either. I then went back to 8.11. Then I tried commenting out some of the conditions (there are several) - it now works in both browsers, but I can't do all the testing I'd like. Will Firefox handle more conditions than IE?
Not seeing what is really wrong, and also no expert here, but I had problems on my template and form between IE & FF when I had html coding errors. I ended up making sure my template validated using the w3c validator first, then I put in my variables, then it worked fine.
The last two "conditions" I put in are somewhat complex, so it's certainly possible that I've miscoded something - but I don't understand what you mean by "using the w3c validator". Could you explain? I really appreciate your trying to help - I'm really a novice at this stuff.
I validate all my html code according the standards set at the W3C, or the world wide consortium. So, most of the time when something doesn't work correctly in IE, FF or Safari, I look at the code first to see if there is an error. You can validate your html and stylesheets but you must have a DOCTYPE in the head of your html documents for it to work, so this may be something you have not attempted to conquer yet in your html journey! The link is here:http://www.w3.org/ and the validator links are here: http://validator.w3.org/
You may want to run the document throught HTML Tidy first if it helps. http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy/
This all might just confuse you and if it does, sorry about that!
Judy
what conditions did you comment out of the formmail.php? My form http://circleoflifeco-op.com/contact works fine in all browsers except IE.
