    Hi again ginger23,

    Thanks for the new suggestion. I did just try this and it did not resolve the problem, but I appreciate your help.

    If I understand your last post correctly, what you are saying is that since you don't have CAPTCHA Creator, you haven't looked into how it is used in conjunction with FormMail. I understand that and appreciate that you have tried to help me out despite this.

    I realize you therefore probably aren't the person to answer my question, but I'm wondering if anyone else who has used CAPTCHA Creator knows where in formmail.php you point to the CAPTCHA creator script.

    I've read the documentation (both Tectite's and Captcha Creator's) and I don't think that's required. That's why I thought maybe formmail assumed that captcha creator was in a folder below formmail.php, besides the fact that the captcha features uses sessions and apparently the directory structure can affect those as well.

    You're right though, someone who has successfully installed it would be better able to tell you exactly how they have it configured.

    Hi PhPer,

    I noticed I had problems when I had the following in the FORM Tag:
    Code:
    action="http://www.domainname.com/formmail.php"
    But when I change the FORM Tag to:
    Code:
    action="formmail.php"
    It worked just fine. I figured it had to do with how it was finding it relative path wise. Not sure, but it worked.

    Having also purchased CAPTCHA Creator product, I've pretty much given up on getting Captcha Creator to work reliably with Formmail. It just seems to fail in too many unexpected ways.

    I do understand that my experience may be related to configuration, but...

    Documentation and support of integration with formmail has, in my opinion been poor: witness the many unanswered questions in this forum in regard to CAPTCHA Creator. I have not found answers.

    It's a shame. I really liked the features of the form user being able to a) regenerate a CAPTCHA image on the fly if they can't read it well, and b) to really simplyfy the generated image text to make it more human readablle. Imgverify is limited in that regard.

    Russell, is CAPTCHA Creator still recommended by Tectite as of April 2009? If so, what version? Is there any chance of a posted tutorial that covers all the bases?

    If not, could references to CAPTCHA Creator be removed, as it is confusing and potentially costly in terms of purchase and time spent.

    I am a Formmail subscriber, so I hope this will be responded too.

    Thanks for considering.

    Dear All
    I think that I may have stumbled upon the answer to this problem and hope that someone will be able to validate it.

    I have been trying to get Captcha Creator to work and along with everyone else it has failed.

    It would seem that the answer is to put the tectite formmail script into the same directory as the captcha creator script. Since doing that its been great. You will of course need to point to it in your action= statement of your form.

    If you saw my previous post, then sorry for the load of old rubbish that I wrote. This edited version is as close as I can get to a sensible answer. I look forward to hearing from you in due course detailing your success.

    Time for another cupa tea.

    As a product, I have no problem recommending it. However, a lot of people have problems getting support from the authors, so we no longer have a partnership with that company.

    Any version is fine.

    This is the best information we have for getting it to work:
    http://www.tectite.com/fmhowto/captchacreator.php

    However, if you have a Windows server, then yet-another-problem-with-Windows is that PHP sessions don't seem to work if the two scripts are in different folders.

    I think this is what Uncle Tom has alluded to.

    So, on Windows, you need to install Captcha Creator in the same folder as FormMail.

    Otherwise, the sessions fail for no apparent reason other than another poor choice by Microsoft.

    I'll be adding that information to the above guide shortly.

    One solution is to upgrade to a Linux server.
