    Default FormMail suddenly stopped working...

    Hi all,

I've been using FormMail for about a year now for a 'Submit your Application' page on a client's web site.

    http://www.wendecam.com/application.htm

As of today however, it just suddenly stopped working.

I was still using version 2.12 until I decided to update about 5 minutes ago to version 6, hoping that would solve the problem. Alas, it did not.

An error occurred while processing the form ([M23]).

Please contact us directly since this form is not working ([M25]).
We apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused. [M26] Your form submission was processed by (6.02), available from www.tectite.com. [M27]
I think it could be a result of our server host changing something, but apparently they haven't changed/updated anything.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

There are no known problems that would cause.

If you have DEF_ALERT set, then FormMail should be sending you an alert message with exact error.

From there, we can determine what's gone wrong.

It's almost certain that something has changed on your server.

Thanks for the very prompt response.

I pretty much figured they were giving me the run-around.

Out of curiousity, what could have changed that would disturb the script?

    Hi,

An update to PHP, or change in their "security" policies preventing email from being sent.

The alert message will tell you/us what's actually gone wrong.

    What does it say?

No alert messages were being sent, it's very strange.

    I went to http://www.wendecam.com/formmail.php?testalert=1

    and got:

FAILED to send alert message. Check your server error logs. [M85]
I have my DEF_ALERT set to this.

    define("DEF_ALERT","ahasting@ryerson.ca");

    Hi,

    OK. It's a server problem - they've broken PHP's mail sending ability.

Use the test scripts here: http://www.tectite.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=62

and you can ask them why these simple scripts don't work.

The scripts indeed do not work.

    I'll talk to them.

    Thanks for the prompt support.
