I also hide the <form></form> tags, and the action="formmail.php" link with external javascript files, and have my formmail.php on a different server. I'm thinking about hiding the whole form in an external javascript, but so far I haven't got any spam.

I am trying this script, the email I am trying to construct is first.last@state.nm.us

but when I use the script above I get:

What am I doing wrong?

I took off the ATMANGLE in the formail so that it would use the @ sign in the java.

This line of your script has an error:

 Textaddress=('last'+ '@' + Textaddress);address

that bolded "address" shouldn't be there.

Take that out, and your email address is: first.last@state.nm.us according to the javascript you have written up. This address of course includes the @mangle.

ok...*laughs* how I didn't catch that I don't know, but...even fixing that and re-blanking the @mangle (I had put it back because i still have forms using it) it still won't send.
but now it gives me the ever infuriating no helpful information of:

Hi,

For years we've used JavaScript to hide email addresses from spammers on normal HTML pages.

I think it definitely helps block a lot of spammers, but I have noticed some evidence in the last 6-12 months that the spammers are now implementing JavaScript in their spambots.

This means they seem to be able to get email addresses that are hidden with JavaScript.

The evidence isn't very strong, but I have a feeling it's starting to happen.

See how you go, but just don't be too surprised if they find your email address anyway.

(Of course it's possible a human reads your email address in their browser and sends it to a spammer's database. So, maybe it's not JavaScript in spambots that are reading these addresses.)

The INI file is completely safe - no way to get to that if it's protected with .htaccess or similar web server protection.

Yes, it *is* infuriatingly little information.

FormMail is telling you everything it can. Unfortunately, PHP and/or the mail server is not providing any more detail about what went wrong.

I just love this product. Your hard work and dedication is worthy of standing applause and more.
I might use the ini file, though to find it in our mass of servers is going to be rough. I am the webmaster but not the server 'master'.
I will start asking questions and see if I can find where it resides.
but can you specify more than one address?
I am currently sending different form results to 3 email addresses

Hi,

The INI file I'm referring to is something you create especially for FormMail.

Here's the HOW TO guide: http://www.tectite.com/fmhowto/inifile.php

You can have any number of email addresses defined in it, with different forms referring to any of them.
