Display error messages within form page?

Hi all,

I have recently become aware of the formmail script and it works great however I'd just like to know if there's a way to display the error messages within the actual form page itself? Say for example a site visitor fails to fill in a required field of the form. Normally, the visitor would then be redirected to a page which lists the errors encountered however, I'd like these error messages to appear within the page where the form is located and WITHOUT losing the data previously typed in the fields. Is this possible or not? If someone could take the time to help me out, I would be very grateful. Cheers.

I don't know that you can do it within the page, but you can display an error page with a back button that will retain all the info already typed in by using fmbadhandler. Check out the page on advanced error handling.

I've also used multi-page form capability to have a confirmation page, where a user can return to the first page to correct errors on their own.
