View Full Version : How can I prevent a HiddenField value data from e-mail

16-Dec-2009, 05:04 AM
I'm looking for a way to prevent a HiddenField's value data from being displayed in the email sent to the recipient. For example, I have a HiddenField called "hdwfail" with the value "contact-us.php?hdwmsg=invalid#captch". When the form is processed, the value is shown in the email. How can I not show the value info.

Thanks in advance,

You either use a template for your form results (http://www.tectite.com/fmhowto/plaintmplt.php) or you use the "mail_options" "Exclude" feature to exclude the field (http://www.tectite.com/fmdoc/creating_forms.php).

Do I simply create the hiddenfield Exclude, and assign its value the name of the hiddenfield I want to hide from e-mail?

The documentation provides an explanation and an example.

Please let me know if this isn't clear to you so that we can improve the doco.

This will do what you've asked:

<input type="hidden" name="mail_options" value="Exclude=hdwfail" />
