    Default Unable to get samplegoodtemplate.htm to display fields

    Hmmm..I tried hooking up samplegoodtemplate.htm to display the user entered fields from the sampleform.htm page. I get the template page to display alright, but the fields haven't changed from the default '$realname','$email','$contact', etc.

    Is there something else I have to do to get the user-supplied input to display?

    I've already added:
    <input type="hidden" name="good_url" value="http://mydomain/templates/samplegoodtemplate.htm" />
    to my form and changed the formmail.php $TEMPLATEURL line to:
    $TEMPLATEURL = $SCHEME.$SERVER."/templates"

    What am I doing wrong?

    try a simple url i.e.:
    Code:
    $TEMPLATEURL = "http://mydomain.com/template/";
    as $TEMPLATEURL in formmail.php

    Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure if I tried that permutation or not, but managed (late at night, bleary-eyed) to come up with something that worked (line 3412 of formmail.php or thereabouts):

    Code:
    $TEMPLATEDIR = "templates";
    I guess it's just a matter of finding that one permutation that does it (if you're lucky, unlike me, it will happen quickly ).

    sure
    btw both can be set, i.e. templatedir is set, templateurl is ignored...

    I have an identical problem to the originator of this thread in that I cannot get my thankyou form to carry across the real data. I have now reverted to using sampleform and samplegoodtemplate to get the problem resolved but have been unsuccessful to date. I cannot display any real data, only the placeholders appear. I have set TEMPLATEURL to http://www.mydomain/templates/ and also to "templates" as the originator of this thread did. I have now started to get confused as to what I have tried and what is left to try.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Ginger23,
    Thank you for your suggestion. I think I had tried that earlier, however it didnt solve the issue.
    I am really surprised, and a little disappointed that the wizard configurator didnt provide a working solution. So as previously any thoughts are really appreciated.

    In that case, you'll need to provide a link to the form and the setting you have for $TEMPLATEURL. Also, did you also set $TEMPLATEDIR?

    You have a number of issues.

    1. You haven't set good_template in the form. You have good_url. To display field values you need to use good_template.

    2. You need to use a server path not a url if you're using $TEMPLATEDIR. You can find the server path to the root by running testalert: http://yourdomain.com/path-to-formmail.php?testalert=1
    Then you'll need to add the rest of the path to your templates directory. If you're on a Unix/Linux server it should look vaguely something like this: /home/mysite/public_html/templates

    3. When you specify good_template in your form, just use the file name not the whole path or url. The script will determine the rest of the path by your $TEMPLATEDIR setting.
