    Default FormMail script error (Sample FormMail Testing)

    Hello,

    the form is working great , but for each submission, I receive an email (as administrator) with the subject : "FormMail script error (Sample FormMail Testing) " and the following message:
    The following error occurred in FormMail :
    Unable to create check file "/tmp/fm3f25ff.txt": fopen(/tmp/fm3f25ff.txt) [<a href='function.fopen'>function.fopen</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

    I've created a directory named tmp on my server without success.
    It's quite annoying as the script is working... and it's filling up my mail box!

    Could someone please help me!
    Thanks,
    Syllia

    oups! I realized later that a post was talking about the same problem.

    So, I finally could set :
    $SCRATCH_PAD = "/path/to/scratchpad";

    and no
    $SCRATCH_PAD = "d:/path/to/scratchpad";
    like it was suggested

    Thanks anyway for your spendid work

    I have discovered that the common response to this error that it is a configuration problem with PHP is not necessarily true in all cases.

    I have been successfully running Tectite's version of FormMail for the better part of a year. I recently made a simple change to my website configuration that involved just changing the username used to access to the location where the website files are stored. After changing the username, I began receiving the error mentioned by the original poster of this thread. I could not find any information that solved my problem. I knew that it had to be some kind of permission error since the only significant change I had made was changing the username. To make a long story short, my ultimate solution was to delete the existing FormMail check file. Once the file had been deleted, I no longer received the "unable to create check file" error message.

    This was occurring on a Windows 2000 server running IIS 5.

    Rich,

    What file is the FormMail check file? Is this a setting in the PHP file?
