Can't get INI file to work at all.

Hi:

I have spent my whole weekend trying to figure out this ini file setup. I have read through the forums, did the ini test by changing the db file to true, the test did good. my ini file is setup correctly

bigbird = "aemailaddress@rhpartners.info"

I also tried putting recipient = "aemailaddress@rhpartners.info"

My form is setup:

my ini file path is correct I tried the db test to true twice with formail.ini, and with my correct path. the formmail.ini is in the same folder with formmail. My form works great until I try the ini file.

O'ye my Target email is setup in formmail to: $TARGET_EMAIL = array("^investors@rhpartners\.info$");

my ini file is behind a https, I don't know if that makes a difference or not?

Also can I put my required in the ini like this:
"fullname:Your fullname,mailingaddress:Your Mailing Address,state:Your State,
city:Your City,zip:Your Zip Code,email:Your Email Address,start:Ready to Get Started?,lendingamount:Amount available for lending?,irafunds:Funds in an IRA?,imgverify:Please Enter Security Code"

or is there a special way that it needs to be setup.

Hi,

The INI file is not process via HTTP or HTTPS, so that doesn't matter.

From what you've said, it looks fine.

Have you set DEF_ALERT so that FormMail can tell you about errors? If not, you're running blind.

Your $TARGET_EMAIL setting must include whatever email addresses you want to send to.

The INI file does not override the $TARGET_EMAIL setting... it works with it.

my target email is set to:
$TARGET_EMAIL = array("^investors@rhpartners\.info$");

the email address I listed in the post is not real. My formmail.ini email address does read the same as the target_email.

I just set me Def_Alert and this is the error it shows:

The following error occurred in FormMail :

no_valid_recipients

I have valid recipients listed. I don't understand.

OK, that's conclusive. Your recipients (whether from INI file or not) do not match your $TARGET_EMAIL setting.

Double check for typos, and then email me your formmail.php and formmail.ini to supportstaff AT tectite DOT com.

Thanks for sending the files.

OK, the problem is that your formmail.ini file has been saved as a Rich Text Format (RTF) file.

It's not straight text and it has a lot of extra stuff in it to support RTF and that's the problem.

Create a new one using Windows Notepad, and save as a straight text file. Upload it again.
