    Default Can't E-Mail to @comcast.net addresses

    I can't seem to get my forms to send e-mails to @comcast.net addresses as recipients, as sender, or as alert_to . It works with my @yahoo.com e-mail address. There are no alert messages!!!

    some sort of block, perhaps...on sending or receiving server

    maybe just a fault on the sending server

    try the test scripts at the top of the subscription forum.

    u can show ur provider when the test script proves theres a problem.

    I placed testphp.php & testphp2.php on the website (www.securefdata.com). Both succeded.

    It not that the server can't send e-mail - it's the server can not send email to my two @comcast.net addresses. I contacted ComCast first, but they I had to contact FomMail.

    Just found someone at Comcast who knew what the problem was. Comcast blocks the PHP mail() function. Is there a work around, besides opening up the user's email client using mailto???

    Question Re: Can't E-Mail to @comcast.net addresses

    Final update. @comcast.net still DOES NOT recieve emails set by http://neilswartz.com/FormMail/testmail.php or http://neilswartz.com/FormMail/SampleForm.html. The sucess message is displayed, but no email arrives.

    Comcast said they blocked the PHP mail() function. I have another PHP program I am working on that reads a MySQL database and uses the PHP mail() fucntion to send emails to the address it finds. @comcast.net DOES recieve these emails. Boy I love this business!

    I am now waiting on any other suggestions from here or Comcast themselves.

    so comcast dont know what theyre doing...clearly they havent blocked the mail finction.

    either that or ur other php proggy doesnt use the mail function.

    if ur server has pear on it, u can configure formmail to use pear - see the settings called PEAR_XXXX

    the other thing is to ask russ for help. AFAIK, he has *never* fdailed to get a server to send mail...eventually!

    Boy I love this business!
    it wouldnt be bad if we got all the idiots out of it....plan: identify idiots and dont send them money

    Initial problem: My Web site (http://neilswartz.com/FormMail/testmail.php) is unable to send email to me at @comcast.net.

    Comcast Chat Support told that Comcast is blocking mail sent by the PHP mail() function. I then said I'll will do more research at my end. I had another PHP program that uses the mail() function on my WinXP/Apache2/PHP/MySQL localhost. I tested that program and it was able to send email to WyleySam@comcast.net. I then moved the code to http://neilswartz.com/FormMail/Maili...dmin/index.php and ran it. It also was able to send email to @comcast.net. So I'm back to my original question. Why doesn't @comcast.net receive email sent by http://neilswartz.com/FormMail/testmail.php??? I get the message "Mail function succeeded" but no email arrives.

    Where do I go from here???

    Source Code:
    <?php
    // A test script for sending mail. Put your email address below
    // and open this script in your browser.
    $ADDR = "WyleySam@comcast.net";
    if (mail($ADDR,"Testing","This is a test"))
    echo "Mail function succeeded<br />";
    else
    echo "Mail function FAILED<br />";
    ?>
