FORMMAIL error

I am receving the following error in a new window after submitting the form:

An error occurred while processing the form.

Our staff have been alerted to the error.
We apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused.

Your form submission was processed by formmail.php (3.00), available from www.tectite.com

And I also receive an error via the DEF_ALERT E-mail as follows:

The following error occurred in FormMail:
no_recipients
**********
Error=The form has an internal error - no actions or recipients were specified.

This DEF_ALERT E-mail also contains the entered form data.
Any ideas how to remedy this? I have specified recipients and an action. One thing that I am not sure of is that the only way I could get this function at all was by moving the formail.php out of the cgi_bin directory and into the main directory. I don't know if this has anything to do with the error.

Hi,

This error is caused by either a missing "recipients" field in your form or if it has a value that doesn't match your $TARGET_EMAIL setting in FormMail.

You can review the documentation above $TARGET_EMAIL to resolve the problem and use the various samples we give for that setting.

If you still can't figure it out, please post or Private Message your setting and I'll be able to assist you.

BTW, the form URL you gave issues a 404 error.

Thanks for the response. I've followed the advice given in the previous threads with the same error and still haven't been able to get it working.

Not sure what the 404 error means.

Hi,

The 404 error means the page for the URL you've specified doesn't exist.

If you click on the link with your browser, the HTML page isn't there.

I figured out what the error was. Missing the letter "s" from the word recipient. It appears to be working except the automated response E-mail is not working. It should have sent a response to my other E-mail address at a different domain. Receiving the following error:

The following error occurred in FormMail:

Error=Failed to obtain authorization to send you email

In addition, the redirect that I have specified after pressing the submit button is not working. The page stays at the same URL as the form.

This indicates that the session variable set by verifyimg.php was not found by FormMail.

Have you successfully used the verifytest.php script to confirm that your server will work properly?

I'll need to start by looking at your form. The URL you provided still doesn't exist.

Do you think that the fact the PHP files reside outside of the cgi_bin directory has anything to do with it?

Hi,

It's a nice looking form.

It's not redirecting because the correct field name for our FormMail is "good_url". You have "redirect", which is for Matt's Perl FormMail.

The verification process may be failing because you're using a different URL.

PHP sessions work with cookies, if they are available. You're accessing the form with http://lafamiglia.com, but in the form your showing the image with http://www.lafamiglia.com/verifyimg.php

Notice that the site names are different. I suspect that that's the problem.

The cookie is being set on your PC for www.lafamiglia.com, but FormMail is being called from "lafamiglia.com" and so the browser can't send back the cookie.

I just submitted using the www URL and it seemed to work (though I haven't received the response email yet).
