    Hi,

Have you read the doco at the top of formmail.php?

Have you started with the sample form we supply?

It sounds like a basic problem. Please try the sample form and follow all the instructions.

first thanks russell for your support read thru forums and dont think i have ever seen someone communicate so prompt & informative.
    Now i tried
    1. samples (both html & php)
    - got my confirmation page but no emails received
-- used alert with different email address
    2. formmail.php?testalert=1
    - was successful but no emails

Again any info would be appreciated

    Hi,

So the form submits, and FormMail shows the "thanks" page, but you don't receive the form submission in an email. Correct?

That means that FormMail has asked PHP to send the mail and PHP has said "no problem". Any error will mean that you get an alert saying what went wrong.

Now, FormMail uses the "email" field as the sender (the From user) for the email it sends you.

If you submit a form with "email" set to an invalid email address, then your server might be refusing to send the email (spam protection).

You might be able to see this in your server logs.

If you submit a form with a valid email address that's on the actual server itself (server is "fred.com" and you submit with email yourname@fred.com), then that should work. Because a valid email address on the actual server is sending the email.

You can also try with this in your form:
    Code:
    <input type="hidden" name="mail_options" value="SendMailFOption" />
Also, try the test mail scripts here:
    http://www.tectite.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=62

You can try different combinations of sender and receiver with these test scripts.

There are some ideas to work with. Let me know how you go.
