    Default Formmail works - still Error

    Hello!
    you guys are great. Your formmailer is by far the best one out there .
    And appreciate the effort you put into all this.

    But that's not the topic. On topic:
    The formmailer works fine and I get the mails, after the user pressed the submit button, however, there's still an error message.
    An error occurred while processing the form .

    Our staff have been alerted to the error .
    We apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused. Your form submission was processed by (8.05), available from www.tectite.com.
    You sure know that one. And, well, the messages I receive include this message:
    Error=The form has an internal error - no valid recipients were specified.
    I have looked for a solution, for days now. I've been searching the web, your site, the faqs, the forum, the how-to-guide and tried it on my own but nothing solved anything :/....
    I've read now several times that the user has made a mistake in the configuration, but I've checked everything and I really can't see anything wrong. And yes, I've used your sample form. I'm really depressed.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

    PS: keep up the good work.

    I get the maiils.
    Do you mean the ones meant to go to the email set in "recipients" or the error email that goes to the address set in $DEF_ALERT?

    That error message indicates that you either haven't specified the email address that you have in "recipients" in $TARGET_EMAIL, or you're using an INI file that stores the email addresses of recipients, and the script can't find the INI file because of an incorrect path.

    If you're not using an INI file, are you sure that the email addresses you've set for "recipients" are also specified in $TARGET_EMAIL?

    Sorry, but I don't understand it. here's how may target email and def alert looks like:
    $TARGET_EMAIL = array(EMAIL_NAME."@mypage\.myhost\.com$");

    /* Help: http://www.tectite.com/fmdoc/def_alert.php */
    define("DEF_ALERT","mye-mail@mye-mailhost.com");
    and here's my recipients-thingy:
    <input type="hidden" name="recipients" value="mye-mail@mye-mailhost.com" />
    Hope this helps. . Thanks for helping me, btw.

    PS: I don't have any INI files or something. Don't even know what that is. *sigh*

    If this is what you have in "recipients":

    HTML Code:
    mye-mail@mye-mailhost.com
    . . . then that's what you need to have in $TARGET_EMAIL

    . . . unless you want to allow anyone at mye-mailhost.com, in which case you can specify this for $TARGET_EMAIL:

    PHP Code:
    $TARGET_EMAIL = array(EMAIL_NAME."@mye-mailhost\.com$");
    It sounds like you're just receiving the error messages because you're using the same email address for $DEF_ALERT as you are for "recipients".

    I changed the email at DEF alert but it still doesn't work.
    If, for instance, my e-mail was 3rr0r@noob.com, what would I have to type into TARGET EMAIL? I did this:
    $TARGET_EMAIL = array(EMAIL_NAME."^3rr0r@googlemail.com$");
    but it didn't work :/.

    Did you read about $TARGET_EMAIL at the link I provided? It explains it very well.

    If you just want to allow one person to receive the results of forms that are filled out, then you put that one email address in TARGET_EMAIL:

    PHP Code:
    $TARGET_EMAIL = array("^3rr0r@noob\.com$");
    $DEF_ALERT has nothing to do with $TARGET_EMAIL. That's just the email address that receives information about errors (for example the webmaster of the site.)

    It worked. ..thanks, mate. I really appreciate that. The mistake I made was leaving the EMAIL_NAME.. Don't laugh at me. Thanks again.

    Glad to hear it!

    Yes, EMAIL_NAME is a placeholder for any email address at the domain specified. It's good to use if you have a lot of different people at the same domain receiving form results.

    You can also specify individual email addresses at different domains by separating them with a comma (using the format shown on the $TARGET_EMAIL page.)
