Hum i hope thats not happening to my server.
i think russ has taken that on board with version 8.11

from my reading of the changes in this new vrsion the problem shown in that thread is now avoided if u set DESTROY_SESSION to false

as i said, i can use ur cms and ur form and not get logged out

i think u need to find a pc that does that too

btw, ive been away for a few hours and ur cms has logged me out

isn't it supposed to remember me ?

and ive checked the cookie it sends - it expires immediately!?!

i think ur cms settings are wrong which is why ur having problems.

    Yes, crabtree is spot on.

The forum thread you mentioned triggered a redesign of FormMail's session handling to avoid these sorts of problems.

If you set DESTROY_SESSION to false, then FormMail will only unset the session variables it works with.

Therefore, it cannot interfere with the session from your main website.

I've scanned this thread you've been discussing and crabtree is right.

Everything points to strange problems with your CMS and its session handling and cookies.

I agree that you need to sort out your CMS issues first so that it always behaves the way you expect and then FormMail (with DESTROY_SESSION set to false) will not affect your CMS session or cookies in any way.

I am just at a loss trying to understand why yours works and ours don't.

Okay this is something that I can look at. I have not set up the remember me feature of the site. So thanks for reminding me about this. I have not messed with those settings yet.

    Note
    Session expiration:
Maximum duration of session idle time in minutes (Valid only when 'use custom session' is enabled. Works only when you are using PHP4.2.0 or later.)

This setting above is set to 30. This is the default value I will bump it up a little as well. This setting can be found In...

    Preferences Main General Settings.

    I am running php 5.2.6

The settings are there to work with in my cms. However if your not experiencing the problems we are then i am not sure where to turn.

I have adjusted custom session to 1 hour and I will now set up the remember me settings.

    Thanks crabtree.

Enable the 'Remember Me' feature in the login.

The 'Remember Me' feature can represent a security issue. Use it under your own risk.

    I turned it on in...

So let me understand this a little better. Could this be related to my php install/setup.

It seems that my wrapped content cannot be processed back to the server with out losing its session handling and cookie from the cms.

Every setting is correct in the cms and its designed to handle different stuff like your formmail when thrown at it.

Is there something that might not be compiled in my php or other server settings related to php that might help?

urlopen seems to work as expected.

It could be, but the fact that crabtree says it works for him indicates it's nothing to do with your server, but it's something going on on your PC.
