    Default 8.11: simple contact form automatically to ordinary email

    One thing that I have not been able to achieve is reaching the function which convert a simple contact form into an ordinary email message automatically.

    Fields used are: realname, email, subject and a textarea.

    However this still results in a list display (like AlwaysList) instead of mimicing an ordinary email message.

    What am I doing wrong here?

    ----
    To be precise, all fields used are:
    ----
    recipients :: user@host
    mail_options :: KeepLines,NoEmpty,Exclude=submit
    good_url :: url.html
    required :: email:Uw email adres,realname:Uw naam,subject:Onderwerp,message:Bericht
    input name="realname" type="text"
    input name="email" type="text"
    input name="subject" type="text"
    textarea name="message"
    input name="submit" type="submit"
    input name="reset" type="reset"

    input type="hidden" name="mail_options"
    is now
    value="KeepLines,NoEmpty,Exclude=submit;reset"

    The result is still identical, a list view instead of a simply ordinary email view.

    Any more suggestions?

    Hi,

    I think this is probably a bug caused by the existence of the submit and reset "fields" in the data.

    FormMail checks the raw list of fields, instead of the list of fields after exclusion.

    If I changed the logic to check the latter, then that would probably upset some other people.

    The original concept of "format like an email when there's only one data field" is kind of strange.

    I'm not sure anyone actually uses it and I know I've had people complain when they see this feature happen and feel as though there are fields missing.

    In fact, I can't even figure out how it would ever operate as it's supposed to. The submit button is also sent along with the data, so there's always at least 2 non-special fields.

    I'd actually like to remove this "feature" completely.

    It's not a lot of use and you can get exactly the same result by implementing a template. And you won't have any unexpected behaviour as you're getting now.
