Default missing fields writing to a csv file on v8.15

    Hello,
I just notice I am loosing some data in my csv files since I ve upgrade from version 8.05 to 8.15

At least the last 10 fields of the form are not written in the csv but they are ok at sent email.

That is happend since upgrade, the form is the same plus CAPTCHA (using CAPTCHA CREATOR)

What would be the problem? any ideas?
Some new configuration at formmail 8.15 i missed?
I have checked several times and I cant find the problem, any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thank you in advance
    pablo

revert back to 8.05 and test

if the problem is still there then it's nothing to do with the upgrade

if the problem is caused by 8.15 u should report it to tectite (use the Bug Reports forums)

thank you very much for your answer crabtree

    version 8.05 was ok

and I finally found the problem, it was not a bug
but is still not clear for me.

    the problem was line 401
define("MAXSTRING",1024); // maximum string length for a value

"for a value" means just one form field? I supposed that, but
it seems I was wrong because the answer was just adding "1"
so., my maxstring now is 11024, and all fields are written in csv file.

    simple
hope this could help to others.

    warm regards

    interesting...

so ur 8.05 version had a different value to ur 8.15 version for MAXSTRING

so, u didn't use tectite's Upgrade Wizard to do the upgrade?

    nop.
    I didnt use upgrade wizard.

my 8.05 MAXSTRING was 11024 too

I have changed that value last year (using 8.05) when i have to set up a form
where users used to write more than 1024 characters at some fields.
but in the actual form (8.15) thats not going to happend, so i didnt care of that value since I didnt expect bigger values than 1024 chars., I ve ever thought that value was just the limit for one field.

At the same time, all emails sent were complete, with all data, even the fields that has not be written at csv file.

going back to work, but still around

That is interesting as the documentation does seem to imply that it is the size of a single field.

    "
Set MAXSTRING to limit the maximum length of any value accepted from the form. Increase this if you have TEXTAREAs in your forms and you want users to be able to enter lots of data. This value has no effect on file upload size.
MAXSTRING also limits the size of special fields that you set. One reason for this is to help prevent attacks on your server's PHP or other software.
MAXSTRING also limits the size of fields loaded from an INI file, however, this limiting will be removed in a later version of FormMail.

    Yep
I was confused, looking for the problem in other strings or the captcha creator.

    It is strange,
my form has 190 fields, and the program has not written
the las 15 fields. it is not relevant, the 1024 it is not a real limit
since at least in 150 fields, entering an average of 10 characters each
thats is 1500 chars, or even sending an empty form just adding a few chars
at last fields the form didnt write the csv completely.
Only after change that string to 11024 the csv was completely written.
I have to remark that all emails sent were complete, with all fields grabbed.

    It is working perfect now.
