Welcome to the Tectite Forums! You can download and get support for our free PHP FormMail (form processor) and other free software.
Hey all. I've used FormMail a couple times in the past (love it!), but this is the first time I've run across this kind of setup..
My client hosts the website & email on their own server (no third party hosts involved). The test alert works, but the forms aren't received by its recipients. DEF_ALERT is set to my email, which is on a different server than my client's.
So, I think what's happening is that the FormMail is working, but something with the server firewall is preventing the emails from coming through. A chat with the client's IT guys confirm this, the forms are being processed out, but the emails get lost as they come back in. I was told that b/c everything is on one server, I need to direct my form processor to use an internal relay, so the forms never go "out" past the firewall.. If that makes sense..
At this point I'm in over my head. My question is: what now? Can FormMail even be customized to change the gateway/relay/sendmail key (?) so that the forms are sent internally? I've been looking over the forums & documentation, but I can't find anything to indicate if this can even be done.
I don't need help, I can figure it out or buy a subscription, if I know what direction to move in. I need advice: is FormMail even the right solution for a setup like this? Anyone else run across a situation like this, any success??
Thanks for reading, sorry its so long!![]()
