    Default ReCaptcha issue.

    I have installed the ReCaptcha into the formmail system by following exactly as instructed.

    However, whenever I entered the form and verified the image (been trying several times & I am pretty sure I had entered the image charaters correctly).

    I always got this error message.

    An error occurred while processing the form .

    The form required some values that you did not seem to provide.
    You must enter the image characters

    Any idea? please help!

    Thanks.

    Did you set REQUIRE_CAPTCHA in formmail.php?

    Hi,

    Yes I have done this on the formmail.php file.

    [PHP]

    /* Help: http://www.tectite.com/fmdoc/require_captcha.php */
    $REQUIRE_CAPTCHA = "You must enter the image characters"; // set to a message string if your forms
    // must provide a CAPTCHA string

    /* Help: http://www.tectite.com/fmdoc/recaptcha.php */
    $RECAPTCHA_PRIVATE_KEY = "xxxxxx.....";

    /PHP]

    Do you have a link to the form, or can you post it here?

    Here you go!

    Code:
    <!-- STEP 1: Put the full URL to formmail.php on your website in the 'action' value. -->
    <form method="post" action="http://www.test.com/formmail.php" name="SampleForm">
    <input type="hidden" name="env_report" value="REMOTE_HOST,REMOTE_ADDR,HTTP_USER_AGENT,AUTH_TYPE,REMOTE_USER">
    <!-- STEP 2: Put your email address in the 'recipients' value.
    Note that you also have to allow this email address in the
    $TARGET_EMAIL setting within formmail.php!
    -->
    <input type="hidden" name="recipients" value="user@test.com" />
    <!-- STEP 3: Specify required fields in the 'required' value -->
    <input type="hidden" name="required" value="email:Your email address,realname:Your name" />
    <!-- STEP 4: Put your subject line in the 'subject' value. -->
    <input type="hidden" name="subject" value="MESSAGE BOX" />
    <input type="hidden" name="mail_options" value="AlwaysList" />
    <input type="hidden" name="derive_fields" value="imgverify=recaptcha_response_field" />
    <table border="1" cellspacing="5%">
    <tr>
    <td>
    <p>Please enter your name:</p>
    </td>
    <td><input type="text" name="realname" />
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>
    <p>Please enter your email address:</p>
    </td>
    <td><input type="text" name="email" />
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td valign="top">
    <p>Please enter your message:</p>
    </td>
    <td><textarea name="mesg" rows="10" cols="50"></textarea>
    </td>
    </tr>

    <tr>
    <td><input type="submit" value="Submit" /></td>
    <td></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </form><p>
    <?php
    require_once('recaptchalib.php');
    $publickey = "xxxxx..."; // you got this from the signup page
    echo recaptcha_get_html($publickey);
    ?>
    </p>
    Thanks.

    Hi and thanks for the free form processor! I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm having the same problem. This is the error I get in my inbox:

    Code:
    The following error occurred in FormMail :
    missing_fields
    Error=The form required some values that you did not seem to provide.
    Please enter the CAPTCHA image characters.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Larson

    I haven't use reCaptcha so this is just a guess, but Chanjay, your php reCaptcha code is outside of the <form></form> tags. I'm thinking it should be inside those tags.

    Larson, it looks like you're missing the derive_fields tag that should be inside the form tags:

    HTML Code:
    <input type="hidden" name="derive_fields"
      value="imgverify=recaptcha_response_field" />
    Again, I haven't used reCaptcha, so these are just some suggestions as places to start.
