    ok
    i added to the script :

    Code:
    <?php
    // A test script for sending mail. Put your email address below
    // and open this script in your browser.
    ini_set("SMTP","m0526537112@gmail.com");
    $ADDR = "m0526537112@gmail.com";
    if (mail($ADDR,"Testing","This is a test"))
        echo "Mail function succeeded<br />";
    else
        echo "Mail function FAILED<br />";
    ?>
    but it still gives me that error :
    Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "m0526537112@gmail.com" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\testmail.php on line 6
    Mail function FAILED

    say do i have to open port 25 ?!i thought the formail is working on port 80!

    ur setting is wrong (SMTP needs a server name not an email address)

    ask ur hosting provider for the correct stuff - only they know wot it should be

    the answer to that is generally "no"

    formmail depends on php and php depends on the OS to send mail

    i am planing to do a host service ,
    i thought about Avery thing and i decided that i want a form to be sent to the clients with no SMTP , so i chose formmail,
    iam working with windows xp ,with apache and php works fine .
    and when i try formmail it gives me error repeatedly,
    like all the errors that i mention above.

    wot doesn't have SMTP - the server or the clients?

    and when u say "clients" do u mean people with email addresses or do u mean client software (as in client/server)?
