    Default [URGENT] HOW TO: Create Campaign Email Auto-Sender with FormMail?

    Hi everyone!

    I am new. FormMail is excellent. I understand how to configure and use it, but now I am trying to implement an email auto-sender with it, exactly like this site:

    http://www.kingstonfoodfight.ca/help.php

    The problems I am having are:

    1. How do I control what appears in the email FROM field, when the recipient receives the email? Currently what appears in the FROM field is <REALNAME>@KVPS.WEBAIR.COM (Webair is my server hosting company, and <REALNAME> is the data entered by the user in the form field "REALNAME"). Instead, I want the email FROM field to show only

    Code:
    <REALNAME>
    2. How do I omit the name of the form field in the email? Suppose I have a form field labeled "MESSAGE" and the user enters <HELLO WORLD!>, then in the email I see:

    Code:
    MESSAGE: HELLO WORLD!
    Whereas I want to see only

    Code:
    <HELLO WORLD!>
    Thank you! I hope someone here can help me. Please ask me to clarify if I am not understood.

    Sincerely,

    I have resolved the first problem. It appears that if no @ is included, then @KVPS.WEBAIR.COM is added by default in the email FROM field. However, if a proper email is entered by the user, such as EMAIL@DOMAIN.COM, then what appears in the email FROM field is exactly EMAIL@DOMAIN.COM.

    I am still stuck on how to hide the form field name, such as

    Code:
    Submit: Submit

    Hi,

    If you just want to prevent the Submit field from being included in the default results, you can use the following:

    Code:
    <input type="hidden" name="mail_options" value="Exclude=Submit">
    You can use an email template to specify exactly how you want the emailed results to look, and which fields you want to include. If you want just the message without the field name, you would just use:

    $message

    (This assumes that your field is named "message" in lower case.)

    Hope that helps.

    What do you mean by "email template", and how do I configure that? And where do I include "$message" and what does that do? I hope you can clarify, thanks!

    Check out the documentation:

    Plain template:

    http://www.tectite.com/fmhowto/plaintmplt.php

    HTML template:

    http://www.tectite.com/fmhowto/htmltmplt.php

    HTML template allows you to format it just like a web page.

    Now I have another similar issue:

    How do I make the email SUBJECT a function of the form field? Suppose I have a form field REALNAME, now I want the SUBJECT to be "New Email from <REALNAME>!". If this was in the body of the message, the code would be:

    Code:
    New Email from $REALNAME
    So how do I control the email SUBJECT using templates...?

    I figured out the solution is to use derived fields:

    Code:
    <input type="hidden" name="derive_fields" value="subject = realname">
