Question Missing data in email and csv

    Hi there,

To make a long story short, we've made an awesome online form

When we, and other people, filling in the form (17 questions total) all data goes into the email and csv document!
Although a lot of times we only get the results of the last few questions 14 - 17 on the last page.

It's an online form with 5 pages (multipage) so only the information on the last page is going though the email and csv.
What's going on? Does anyone have an idea? We've already tried giving it more field characters (11024 instead of 1024).

Again, when we (and some other people) fill in the form all data succesfully come through but when another people do it, it only gives us the answers 14 - 17 of page 5. Is this perhaps an Internet Explorer issue?

    Please help..

multipage forms use a PHP sessions to store the fields between pages

if ur server is setup with a short PHP session time (i think the default is 20 minutes) and u have some users who spend a lot of time on the last page, this might explain the problem - the other data is lost and only the last page fields are seen when the form is submitted.

so, try increasing the php session time to say 60 minutes+

otherwise, it's a really tough problem and i think u need to buy support from tectite

    Thanks crabtree!

You definitely know what's going on in the form and understand the issue I'm trying to explane.
I've narrowed it down and I agree, it must be something within the session.. how long it stays open before it forgets the answers on the previous pages.

Do you perhaps also know where I can modify the php session?

the settings are in the php.ini file on the server, but can be chged by runtime commands.

if ur on shared hosting, ur host may allow u to have ur own copy, otherwise u might need to adds some "ini_set" commands to FormMail (in this case use its hook system)

here's the doco for the settings:
    http://php.net/manual/en/session.configuration.php

and heres a good explanation of session length:

Thanks for getting back at me.

Okay let me see.. I've uploaded an php.ini file to the directory where all my files are.

    Within the php.ini I've got:
    session.auto_start Off Off
    session.bug_compat_42 Off Off
    session.bug_compat_warn On On
    session.cache_expire 180 180
    session.cache_limiter nocache nocache
    session.cookie_domain no value no value
    session.cookie_httponly Off Off
    session.cookie_lifetime 0 0
    session.cookie_path / /
    session.cookie_secure Off Off
    session.entropy_file no value no value
    session.entropy_length 0 0
    session.gc_divisor 1000 1000
    session.gc_maxlifetime 2880 2880
    session.gc_probability 1 1
    session.hash_bits_per_character 5 5
    session.hash_function 0 0
    session.name PHPSESSID PHPSESSID
    session.referer_check no value no value
    session.save_handler files files
    session.save_path /var/lib/php/session /var/lib/php/session
    session.serialize_handler php php
    session.use_cookies On On
    session.use_only_cookies Off Off
    session.use_trans_sid 0 0

So it will stay open for 2880 (48 min).
I also noticed the session.save.path so I've made an directory /var/lib/php/session

Is there something else I should be doing?
You've mentioned something about ini_set and hook system?
