Default Error <FormMail INI file has a syntax error>

We recently migrated a website from a Linux server to a Windows server. The version of formmail is 8.35 "$FM_VERS = "8.35"; // script version".
Now the form when we try to send it send us an error saying "
The FormMail INI file '/hsphere/local/home/centralm/nonWeb/.mailFile.ini' has a syntax error ".

How can we make the form work again ?

    Hi,

That generally means there's a problem with the path in the $TEMPLATEDIR setting. Did you change the server path in formmail after the migration? You can run testalert to get the server path: http://yourdomain.com/path-to-formmail.php?testalert=1

This will show the server path to the document root and you can adjust the path to the actual ini file from there.

Also, not sure about the period (dot) before the file name (.mailFile.ini), whether that would cause a problem.

    Hi, thanks for the help.
I appreciated, but I eventually make it work, by removing the FORM_INI_FILE url and some small changes to the TARGET_MAIL. It's now working.
To conclude it was a wrong path problem. The error is very misleading.

    Best regards.
