    Unhappy Test alerts work, form doesn't/TARGET_EMAIL pattern "EMAIL_NAME missing caret

    Hi,

    Since moving to a new Linux server (Apache mod_fcgid/2.3.5) running PHP Mode: php_php5 (php_fastcgi5), the form generates this error:
    An error occurred while processing the form . The staff at cottermaninc.com have been alerted to the error .
    cottermaninc.com apologizes for any inconvenience this error may have caused.

    I updated to v.9 but it didn't help.

    I just get an alert in my inbox that says "The following potential problems were found in your configuration: Warning: Your TARGET_EMAIL pattern "EMAIL_NAME@cottermaninc\.com$" is missing a ^ at the beginning. But from what I read here, the caret is not needed for my situation (mail can be sent to any name @cottermaninc.com).
    What I have in the script: $TARGET_EMAIL = array(EMAIL_NAME."@cottermaninc\.com$");

    I'm using the PEAR settings. Have tried checking the email password, changing the sendmail_f option, etc. Nothing works. Help!

    Hi,

    The setting is now $EMAIL_NAME.

    So, instead of:
    PHP Code:
     $TARGET_EMAIL = array(EMAIL_NAME."@cottermaninc\.com$");
    you need:
    PHP Code:
     $TARGET_EMAIL = array($EMAIL_NAME."@cottermaninc\.com$");
    If you used our Upgrade Wizard, this should have been changed automatically.

    Hi Russell,

    Thanks for this info. I don't get the configuration alert now, but the form doesn't work.

    Hi,

    What does the alert message say?

    Hi Russell,

    Now I do not get any alert at all.

    My server techs are asking if there's any way to put the script in debug mode.

    Hi,

    Yes. Create an empty writable file called "fmdebug.log" in the same directory as FormMail.

    Hi Russell,

    I got a debug log in place and this is what it says:

    1 Sun, 16 Mar 2014 16:25:30 -0500: Submission to: /cotterman.php from: http://cottermaninc.com/contact_us.php
    2 Sun, 16 Mar 2014 21:25:30 0000: FilterFiles 0
    3 Sun, 16 Mar 2014 21:25:30 0000: OnExit

    Can you tell what this means?

    Hi,

    That's just logging the process that's taking place.

    No errors are being shown there.

    And, nothing that relates to the problem you're having.

    That generally means the problem is beyond FormMail's processing.

    Hi Russell,

    You're saying it's the server. Can you tell from this what needs to be changed?
    http://cottermaninc.com/phpinfo.php

    I will also try starting with a fresh formmail script.

    Hi,

    Now when I send a testalert, I get this: PATH_TRANSLATED: -not set-. Is that a problem?

    MESSAGE RECEIVED:
    To: webmaster@cottermaninc.com
    From: formmail@cottermaninc.com

    This is a test alert message
    Loaded language is English (builtin)
    PHP version is 5.5.3
    FormMail version is 9.06
    Server type: non-Windows

    DOCUMENT_ROOT: /hsphere/local/home/cotter/cottermaninc.com
    SCRIPT_FILENAME: /hsphere/local/home/cotter/cottermaninc.com/cotterman.php
    PATH_TRANSLATED: -not set-
    REAL_DOCUMENT_ROOT: /hsphere/local/home/cotter/cottermaninc.com

    SERVER_NAME was cottermaninc.com
    REQUEST_URI was //cotterman.php?testalert=1
