FormMail Documentation

Welcome to the configuration documentation for Tectite FormMail.

Currently, Tectite FormMail is the only free FormMail script that's mature, stable, free of security vulnerabilities and under constant enhancement. You can read the complete version history of Tectite FormMail.

To our knowledge, Tectite FormMail is the only form processor that protects from spam in three ways:

  1. It protects the web by not having security or injection vulnerabilities.
  2. It protects you by protecting your email address from spambots and other email harvesters.
  3. It protects you by detecting spammer activity and blocking it immediately.

Tectite FormMail is comprehensive in its features and, therefore, that means there's a lot of documentation.

Getting Started

If you're a new user, you can get running quickly by using the FormMail Configuration Wizard. You only need the configuration documentation here if you want to use more features or need to overcome limitations or idiosyncrasies of your server.

Alternatively, if you prefer to setup FormMail manually (without using the Wizard), check out Terry Allen's Guide.

Basic Configuration

To get started with FormMail, you only need to make two configuration settings:

To configure an HTML form to work with Tectite FormMail, read this guide.

Email Problems

If you've done the basic setup or used the Configuration Wizard and the email being sent by FormMail is not arriving in your Inbox, please read the guide to Solving Email Problems.

If you've got a technical interest and would like to know the logic used in FormMail for sending email, please read the document about From Address vs Sender.

More Advanced Features

Once your basic HTML form is working, we recommend you review these other settings:

Other settings are for more advanced features or special requirements. If you're having trouble getting FormMail to work on your server, you may need to review all the configuration settings.
